Product Review: Clarins Daily Energizer Cream

I went on a little bit of a beauty splurge about a month ago. I had never tried any of the Clarins products, even though I've wanted to for a while now and I picked up a moisturiser from their Daily Energizers Range, designed for younger skin. The line is designed to combat: 'Late nights, partying, studying, pollution and stress'.

There are three moisturisers available from this range: a lotion (which comes with SPF), a cream-gel and a cream. Each designed for a different type of skin. After a consultation at the counter, the assistant recommended the 'Daily Energizer Cream' for my dry skin.

It's not cheap at £20, however it isn't that bad compared to a lot of high end moisturiser alternatives. The product comes in a glass jar with a plastic top and it really does feel quite luxurious and I feel like such a big girl having it on my makeup table.

I've been using this moisturiser about three weeks now every day after I've cleansed my skin and before applying my primer or foundation. It sinks in quite quickly leaving a silky finish to the skin, unlike some moisturisers which can take ages to sink in - not ideal when you want to rush off! It has a lovely apricot smell in the container which disappears as it's applied to the skin and I'm not sure if I imagine this, but I think it also has quite a cooling, soothing effect on the skin - it's definitely reduced some of the redness I tend to get on my cheeks.

Overall I have enjoyed using this product, although it's not as moisturising as I expected. I'm not sure how it would fair in the winter when my skin's quite a bit drier, but right now I'm definitely content with it not to look for anything else.

  1. This sound like the kind of moisturiser I would like :) I like any kind of energising/brightening cream!
